A same-day cake does not have to be a generic one. Add a name, an age, a short message or an inside joke on the order page and we will hand-pipe or make a custom cardstock topper for your cake before it leaves the kitchen — at no extra cost and with no effect on your delivery window.
Choose your sponge: Vanilla, Red Velvet, or Chocolate.
Choose your filling: Vanilla buttercream, berry compote or whipped caramel.
Colour matching to a party theme is usually possible on same-day orders. If you have something specific in mind, ring us or message via WhatsApp on 0858093880 before you order, and we will tell you straight away whether we can do it today.
What We Cannot Make For The Same Day
Handmade work takes the time it takes. We would rather tell you now than disappoint you at 4pm.
The following need more notice:
- Wedding cakes. These are made to order, and we recommend booking a few weeks ahead. See our wedding cakes.
- Tiered cakes of two or more. Structure, dowelling and setting time put these outside a same-day window.
- Bespoke and novelty cakes involving sculpted shapes, modelled figures or printed images.
- Fresh floral toppers and gold leaf finishes, which are sourced and applied to order.
- Allergen-specific cakes. We are not able to cater to specific dietary requirements or allergies. Our cakes may contain gluten, milk, eggs and other allergens.

Yes. CakeMeAwayIE offers pickup/deliver handmade cakes the same day across Dublin, Wednesday to Sunday. Order before 12:00 noon on Wednesday to Friday, or before 10:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday, and your cake will be delivered that same day.

The cut-off is 12:00 noon Wednesday to Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Orders placed after the cut-off are delivered on the next available day. We do not deliver on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Delivery is charged by location, and the exact fee is calculated automatically at checkout once you enter your delivery address. There is no same-day surcharge and no minimum order value. Collection from our Kilmainham Cake studio is free.

Deliveries are made between 3 PM and 7 PM Wednesday to Friday, and between 12 PM and 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Our driver will ring you when he is at your address. A specific delivery time cannot be chosen.

Yes. Sunday same-day delivery is available on orders placed before 10:00 AM, with delivery between 12 PM and 4 PM. Monday and Tuesday are our closed days — we offer neither delivery nor collection on those days.

Yes — birthday cakes are our most common same day order. Choose a design from the same day collection, add the name and age on the order page, and we will customise it before the cake goes out. There is no extra charge for personalisation.

Yes. Add your wording in the personalisation field on the order page. This does not delay your delivery. For anything more elaborate than a piped message or cardstock topper, please ring us before ordering.

Yes, and collection is free. Our Cake Studio is at 8 Military Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8, D08AE2C — inside the HSQ Complex. Drive into the SuperValu car park at that address; parking is free. Collection hours are 3pm to 7pm Wednesday to Friday and 12pm to 6pm Saturday and Sunday.

Your order will be delivered on the next available day. Most of our celebration cakes need only 1 to 5 days' notice, so you have plenty of choice. If your need is urgent, ring us on 0858093880 — occasionally we can still fit you in.
